Beechmont House
A cantilevered pavilion house set around a central elevated deck above a steep hinterland site. The pavilion approach economised area while also creating a clear delineation between living wing and bedroom wing and a deck that can be accessed from almost every room in the house. A complex design brief with different living units and multiple work spaces produced a surprisingly simple outcome. The striking material pallette of Shou sugi Ban charred timber and living green walls gives a evocative feel to this house at one with it's landscape setting Under construction
